Get lost in this challenging, mysterious, open-world adventure as you encounter strange creatures, solve puzzles, and figure out how to restore the radio relay grid in order to find your missing son. Look for clues along the way and manage your resources while you decode the secrets of Full Quiet.

Your puzzle solving, combat and survival skills will be tested... Do you have what it takes to silence the forest and drive out those who have emerged into our world?

History

Full Quiet was designed to be a new experience for the NES; an open-world, mystery adventure game with survival horror influence. Our team brought its love of maps, radios, exploration, getting lost in the woods, and mysterious places and creatures into the composition of the game. In order to create a sense of being isolated in the woods, we designed it to be somewhat cryptic and daunting with a persistent sense of dread. We knew from the outset that this game would not be for everyone and that we were taking a lot of risks, but for those who connect with it, we think it will resonate with them and give them something to really dig into. Our overall goal was to create a game that challenged a player's skills at combat, resource management and puzzle solving in unique ways.

Lacking a roadmap for this kind of game, it was difficult to plan out and fully design, requiring a lot of trial and error to work out even basic functions like navigation since it's a contiguous 3D world that plays as a side-scrolling platformer. Additionally, it was very difficult to fit the world, and all its necessary details, plus all the gameplay features into a 512K cartridge. This process took several years to complete but in the end we're proud of what we made and we think it will be a fun and interesting experience for anyone who is intrigued by this kind of game.

About Retrotainment Games

Retrotainment was born out of a love for the 8-bit era of gaming and retro culture. Being exposed to the golden age of gaming really left its mark on the team in the 1980s while growing up in suburbia. This prepared their young minds for what was to come in 1985... the gray box that forever changed gaming! That love has carried through to today motivating them to start Retrotainment Games.

Their dream was simple, they wanted to create NES games that could be put onto a cartridge and played on the original hardware; That same gray box that they spent countless hours playing on their old tube TVs.

Previous works include Haunted: Halloween '86 & Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum.

Quotes About Full Quiet From the Development Team:

"We wanted to create a unique experience on the NES," Greg Caldwell of Retrotainment Games said. "The community and our backers helped make that possible."

"There is so much mystery and lore packed into this game," Tim Hartman of Retrotainment Games said. "So thankful to get it to modern consoles for a whole new audience to experience."

“We put a lot of ourselves into this game. We wanted to make a game that we wanted to play, and we hope that that feeling comes across and becomes a game that you want to play, as well!” Zachary Curl of Retrotainment Games said.
